I just read about this fun quiz over at fuse #8. Of course, I can never resist finding out deep dark truths about myself from a series of random impersonal questions. So I took it.
The idea is that there is a book out there that best represents who you are. And low and behold, for me, that book is possibly my favorite book of all time: Anne of Green Gables.
I am so excited to BE Anne of Green Gables. I alway knew she and I were kindred spirits. Here are my results:
You’re Anne of Green Gables!
by L.M. Montgomery
Bright, chipper, vivid, but with the emotional fortitude of cottage
cheese, you make quite an impression on everyone you meet. You’re impulsive, rash,
honest, and probably don’t have a great relationship with your parents. People hurt
your feelings constantly, but your brazen honestly doesn’t exactly treat others with
kid gloves. Ultimately, though, you win the hearts and minds of everyone that matters.
You spell your name with an E and you want everyone to know about it.
Take the Book Quiz
at the Blue Pyramid.
How did they know?
If you take the quiz, please tell me what book you are. (I’m really curious to know how many possible books are in the quiz in the first place.)
p.s. oops, i just reread the instructions. there are only 64 possible outcomes.

That was fun but I got the same exact book as you! 🙂

That must make us kindred spirits too!

(And further reinforcing this theory, I chose my web designer based on your website, which I love!)

Okay, I was WATERSHIP DOWN, which commented on my individuality and that, ahem, I just might be one of the “most important people of all time”.
DaveT says
I was an Anne, however, I always felt like a Gilbert Blythe
Jenny says
i think that works. Gilbert is sort of the male anne.

I also got Anne of Green Gables!
Then I retook it like five times and ended up finally being The Hobbit. But I’m not sure that really fits me, even though I like that book.
Mary says
Hi Jenny,
I, too, got ANNE OF GREEN GABLES. Do I spend more time teaching or learning? That was the tough call. I chose learning – because life, after all, is learning.
Jenny says
Hey, here’s something interesting. Of the six of us, five are Anne of Green Gables. Isn’t that weird. I mean there are 64 possiblities. Why would we all be the same?
Hmmm.

Every single time I take this quiz it’s the same:
Siddhartha.
I have no idea what this says about me…

One Hundred Years of Solitude –I love that book!

JennE,
I am To Kill a Mockingbird
by Harper Lee
Perceived as a revolutionary and groundbreaking person, you have changed the minds of many people. While questioning the authority around you, you’ve also taken a significant amount of flack. But you’ve had the admirable guts to persevere. There’s a weird guy in the neighborhood using dubious means to protect you, but you’re pretty sure it’s worth it in the end. In the end, it remains unclear to you whether finches and mockingbirds get along in real life.

Well, here’s an interesting thing. Yesterday I took the quiz, and didn’t “feel old” (one of the questions), then answered the rest and found I was THE POISONWOOD BIBLE. Today, I said (I lied) I “felt old” and the questions were completely different after that and it turns out I’m a devout Christian….I’ll have to let my synagogue know…Maybe I won’t have to pay dues this fall!

to saramerri,
I love 100 Years of Solitude. In it, Garcia Marquez writes the single most accurate description of an unlovable matriarch (who I hope I do not resemble,) with these words:
“Of her it can be said that noone ever heard her sing a note!”
My dearest Jenny will tell you all that I sang, off key, all the time, and something that I bet you all do not know about JennE is that she also is a singer, with a really lovely voice.
